Top 10 Projected Occupations in 2026

Healthcare workers dominate the top 10 list for projected job growth. Nine of the top 10 jobs are projected to have greater than 30% growth over the coming 10 years. Using the new Degree-to-Jobs Interactive, we sorted the projections table by projected growth and isolated the top 10 jobs as shown below.  

 

Couple observations from the list:

  • Nine of the top ten occupations have growth rates above 30%

  • Five of the top ten growth occupations are in healthcare

  • The top two occupations (solar and wind turbine) are highly technical with high self-employment rates and job training requirements

  • Three of the top ten occupations have a median wage above 100k

  • Software developers continues to show strong growth
